National Insurance-Star National Swasthya Bima Policy
Star National Swasthya Bima Policy is one of health insurance from National Insurance. It is a specially designed for the account holders of Bank of India. This policy covers the medical expenses of the insured person for more than 24 hours of hospitalization. It includes room rent, boarding expenses, nursing expenses, surgeon fees, consultant fees, specialist fees, anesthetist, medical practitioner, anesthesia, operation theatre charges, cost of medicines and drugs, blood, oxygen, surgical appliances, diagnostic materials, x-ray, dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, pacemaker, artificial limbs, cost of organs and other related expenses.
The following additional benefits are available under this policy by paying additional premium.
-Pre and post hospitalization expenses are covered up to 30 days prior and 60 days after hospitalization.
-Pre-existing diseases can be covered after three continuous claim free policy years.
-In case, the hospitalization of children below 12 years, a lump sum amount of Rs.1000/- is payable towards the out-pocket expenses.
-Cost of health-check-ups are covered after three continuous claim free policy years. It is up to 1% of the sum insured.
-Maternity benefit and baby car expenses are reimbursed up to 5% of the sum insured.
-Ambulance charges can be reimbursed up to Rs.1000/- per policy period.
-In case death in hospital, the funeral expenses are reimbursed up to 5% of the sum insured.
Cashless hospitalization facility is provided to the insured and family through Third Party Administrators (TPA). Premium paid is eligible for tax benefit under section 80D of the Income tax Act,1961.
The entire family consisting of the account holder, spouse and two dependent children up to the age of 21 years can be covered. The age group is 3 months to 65 years. The policy can be renewed up to the age of 80 years. The policy offers different sum insured options to choose from- Rs.50,000/-, Rs.1Lakh, Rs.1.5Lakh, Rs.2Lakh, Rs.2.5Lakh, Rs.3Lakh, Rs.4Lakh and Rs.5Lakh.
